In Development

  • On the gloomy slopes of Pendle Hill, thirteen souls convene to air their elegies.

They are the Lancashire Witches, of Pendle, Windle and Padiham; all but one condemned to hang for their crimes.

Silenced for over 400 years, now they rise and speak again.

An urgent new voice reclaims this renowned Lancashire tale through the stunning verse of Camille Ralphs’ 2015 pamphlet, ‘MALKIN’, which was shortlisted for the Michael Marks Poetry Award and featured on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Ralphs has given permission for her text to be adapted for performance by Ginnel Pigs as our debut work.

‘MALKIN’ will be in Research and Development in 2025, with plans for a tour of the North West in 2026 in conjunction with educational outreach work.

  • When Mary Hindle hears the workers are smashing the looms up at the mill, her first thought is for her daughter.

Pushing through the crowd to find her child, little does know she's walking towards a life changing turn of events.

Accused of destroying the looms herself, she soon finds herself shackled in a ship and bound for the penal colonies of Australia.

'Loom' is a powerful one-woman tale exploring issues of justice, family, class and sex.

'Loom' is currently in development with initial rehearsals scheduled for 2026.

  • It's 43 AD and the Romans have arrived.

Cartumandua, Queen of the Brigantes and ruler of the North is faced with a grave choice: resist Roman rule to preserve her culture, history and independence or bend the knee and become a pawn of the Empire.

'Cartimandua' imagines the dilemma of the decision faced by the north's Iron Age Queen, bringing this once powerful woman to life as never before.

'Cartimanuda' is currently being meticulously researched with a production planned for 2028.
